Visioning Rail Transit in Northwest Arkansas:
Lifestyles & Ecologies

In 2006 William Conway served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Arkansas, School of Architecture. He participated in a multi-phase research project that explored sustainable neighborhood development along an existing 32-mile rail line in Northwest Arkansas. The initiative began with a series of design studios in which UA students proposed development possibilities along the line. In 2009 the National Endowment for the Arts provided funding in support of a book documenting the project. The project was sponsored by the University of Arkansas, School of Architecture and led by Stephen Luoni Director of the UA Community Design Center (UACDC).
